On Saturday, I started to get a move on with my VoluntEARS hours by doing one of my favorite events, AIDS WALK Orlando, which benefits the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida.
The event helps raise awareness for HIV and AIDS and raises funds for Hope and Help’s various programs that help educate and prevent the disease and assist those who happen to have it by providing access to a food pantry and therapy among other things.
You’d think in 2016, we wouldn’t have to do this. But as long as there are people who continue to fight for their lives, places like Hope and Help will continue to be there for those who need it.
I’m thankful to be able to help in my own little way, even if it’s just a walk in the park.
